Closed for Sunday Morning Worship

It is with much sadness that we have decided to close St. Mark's Church until the virus levels decline. We think this is safest for our church family, our community and to support our stretched NHS.

Both Tony (tel: 01229 820405 / Email) and Gill (tel: 07923 466602 daytime / Email) are available by phone or email or through Facebook.

We will continue our online services and you are all in our prayers.

Barrow, In Remembrance

Centopth

A Commemoration of Armistice Day is set to be held virtually in Barrow this year in light of the coronavirus pandemic and national lockdown.

Normally a parade to the Cenotaph in Barrow Park takes place every year on Remembrance Sunday, followed by a service and wreath laying ceremony.

This year, a video will instead be shown on Barrow Borough Council's YouTube channel featuring scenes from Barrow and the playing of The Last Post and Reveille.

Watch the video here on YouTube.

A Message to St. Mark's

From Deborah and Mark Halling, son and daugther of Bill Halling, a previous vicar here at St Mark's.

We'd like to say a very belated but heartfelt thank you to people who sent lovely, thoughtful messages and prayed prayers around the time of our Mum, Ro's, short illness and death last spring.

We have many happy memories from our time in Barrow and we know Mum really enjoyed catching up with friends from St Mark's when she paid what turned out to be her last visit in autumn 2018.

We massively appreciated being able to share messages from some of you with Mum in her final days and your kindness to us after she died. Thank you.

Church Anniversary and Gift Day

On Sunday 27th September we will be celebrating the 142th Anniversary of the establishment of St. Mark‘s. There will be an opportunity to give thanks for God‘s past provision and to pray that we continue to seek His direction for the future.

This year our gifts will be divided equally between Wycliffe Bible Translators and Church Mission Society. Ideally please place your gift in a Gift Day envelope. To enable us to reclaim the tax paid on your gift, the Donation Form on the front of your envelope must be completed. Any cheques to be payable to St. Mark‘s Church PCC.

If you are unable to attend Church, gifts can be sent to the Vicarage. If you would prefer to do a bank transfer please request the correct Bank Account details from the Treasurer, treasurer@stmarksbarrow.org.uk.
